Easy Homemade Blueberry Jam

1 cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
3 tbsp water
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Put all ingredients into a small saucepan, cover and bring to a boil. Once boiling, remove the lid, reduce the heat to medium, and continue to cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture reduces and thickens. Smash down the blueberries with a wooden spoon while they cook.
