Ingredients

  • 2 slices Alvarado Street Bakery Bread
  • 2 tablespoons nut/seed butter*
  • 2 tablespoons homemade chia jam (ingredients below)
  • 1.5 cups fresh berries (raspberries suggested)
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons 100% real maple syrup

Not everything needs reinventing. Sometimes it just needs better ingredients.

This is our take on a lunchbox staple, with homemade chia jam that comes together in five minutes and a bread that's been doing things the right way since 1977.

Directions

  1. Add fresh berries, lemon juice, chia seeds and maple syrup into a small blender.
  2. Blend until well mixed. Let sit for 5 minutes, the chia seeds with absorb the water from the berries and thicken the jam.
  3. Make a few Ultimate PB & Chia Jam sammy’s and serve!

* Peanut butter is nutritious and delicious, but many schools do not allow peanut products to protect allergic children. Try sunflower seed butter instead!
